Canada and Israel are about to complete a number of defence co-operation agreements that will significantly tighten military bonds between the two countries as tensions grow over Iran's nuclear ambitions. And Defence Minister Peter MacKay refused Wednesday to rule out a mutual-defence agreement that would oblige Canada to come to Israel's defence should the latter be attacked. MacKay and his Israeli counterpart Ehud Barak said they anticipate negotiations will be completed by the end of the year. "Israel needs strong, reliable partners, which Canada is certainly one," MacKay said. "I would argue they could not find a more supportive country on the planet." 2.Chinese, Israeli firms building water industrial park
A joint Israeli and Chinese team is building a huge Sino-Israeli International Water Industrial Park in southern China, a representative from the team told The Jerusalem Post at the WATEC water technologies exhibition in Tel Aviv on Wednesday. “Israeli companies have the most advanced technologies in the world and the purpose is to invite Israeli water companies into China and to explore the market in China,” said Victor Zhao, Chinese-based director of Ness Ziona firm Shirat Enterprises.

4.iPad app lets patients watch angioplasties live
Thanks to technology developed at the Rabin Medical Center-Beilinson Campus, the relatives – and even the alert patient in the operating theater – will be able to view the whole process on their iPad screens. “This is the beginning of a new medical era,” said Kornowsky, who initiated the project. “Instead of [doctors] explaining to the patient and his family what catheterization is and telling them [after the procedure] what was done, they can now see it for themselves on their iPads in a totally visual, clear and professional manner. This is a different kind of experience that enables the performance of medicine at eye level.”
5.Israel, China Team up For New Auto Brand
Shalom Life: On November 28, Chinese auto maker Chery Automobile Co. along with Israeli holding company Israel Corp., announced their intent to launch a new automotive brand which will focus on the western European and Chinese domestic markets. According to a statement released by Qoros Automotive Co. - the name given to the joint effort between the two firms – Qoros plans to introduce a new compact sedan in Western Europe and China in 2013. The two corporations have invested $500 million in Qoros since it was founded in 2007.

He may be a Muslim country's leader, but that doesn't stop him from voicing pro-Israel opinions. 7.Israel Receives Award from South Korea
South Korean President Lee Myung-bak on Sunday will award Dr. Ya'akov Cohen of the Hebrew University's East Asian Studies Department a top award for his work in advancing relations between Israel and his country. The award, called the Order of Civil Merit - Order of Magnolia, will be present to Cohen for “his contributions in advancing knowledge of Korea among students and his strengthening ties between Israel and Korea – as a Holocaust survivor, as former Israeli ambassador to Korea, and as a senior lecturer at Hebrew University.” Cohen is the first and only Israeli so far to receive this award.
