The Peanut Gallery

Statements, comments and forecasts that have no substance, but just might turn out to be relevant.

1.House minority leader Nancy Pelosi has her own remedy for the jobs dearth: Extend unemployment benefits. "It injects demand into the economy," she insists. But if regulations lead to greater employment, "the economy should be in danger of overheating right about now," Investor's
Business Daily noted. PG: The shallowness of some of these politicians is seriously under-estimated.

2. James Dines: Obama believes government-created jobs will lead to stronger economic growth. Thus the so-called "jobs bill" he's touting. The president has his economics upside
down. In real life, the only reliable way to produce permanent jobs is through private investment that increases economic growth. The point here, which has eluded Obama, is that growth comes first and jobs follow. PG: I suppose that all one needs is a smile and a turn of tongue to be president. Most folks don't see past that.

3. PMW: In response to yesterday's PMW video-bulletin which showed the PA Mufti's speech that Muslims' destiny is to kill Jews, YouTube has frozen PMW's account. All PMW videos are working except this one but the account is frozen and PMW cannot upload new videos for the next two weeks. Check this out http://palwatch.org/main.aspx?fi=452&fld_id=452&doc_id=6099
PG: Anybody who still believes these folks intend anything but genocide, needs a therapist....and quickly!

4.The uprising that toppled Muammar Gaddafi last year may be over but the militias remain in place. The National Transitional Council (NTC) and its army have not been able to persuade the militias to join the new armed forces, nor have they been able to rein them in. PG: The Libya of today is made up of different gangs who come out at night, looking to stir the pot. So what was  all the cheering about? Lawlessness and disintegration. From the frying pan and into the fire.

5.In recent weeks there have been significant signs of a rapid deterioration in relations between Iran and Turkey. This centers on growing Iranian resentment of the critical position that Ankara has adopted towards continued violent oppression by Bashar al-Assad and the Syrian security forces of that country’s popular uprising, while ignoring warnings from Turkey, the Arab League, and other countries to find a solution to the crisis. PG: The arabs will never accept either Turkey or Iranian leadership as long as Saudi Arabia has oil income.

6.A Swedish professor suggested Israel was behind the bloody terror attacks committed by Norwegian terrorist Anders Breivik this past July, stirring up controversy in the country.
Research professor Ola Tunander of the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) published an article in the Norwegian academic journal Nytt Norsk Tidsskrift in which he called to further examine Brevik's motives. The Swedish professor linked the bombing at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem carried out by the Irgun on July 22, 1946 to the same date of Breivik's attack. “We have discussed the right-wing extremist Israeli and Judeo-Christian side of Breivik’s network, Israel’s interest in disciplining Norway, and Israel’s celebration of bomb attacks. In this respect, Breivik’s attack appears to resemble a new king David Hotel attack: July 22nd,” he said.

PG:  How intellectually deep Professor. This one really takes the cake. Hey Swedes, this deranged specimen is teaching your kids! PRIO director Kristian Berg Harpviken was left with a feeling of "considerable unease". Really?

7.SHEBOYGAN, Wis. –  A 10-year-old Wisconsin girl saved her mom's life using CPR skills she learned watching the drama series "Grey's Anatomy." Madisyn Kestell and her 12-year-old friend, Katelynn Vreeke, began using the life saving techniques they had seen on the hit show on Kandace Seyferth, when they found her on the ground suffering an asthma attack and unable to breathe, The Sheboygan Press reported. http://worldasthmafoundation.org/girl-saves-moms-life-using-cpr-learned-watching-greys-anatomy-fox-news.htm
