Intel pumps $2.7B into Israeli plant

US chipmaker Intel has confirmed plans to invest $2.7 billion in its southern Israel facility in order to produce 22-nanometer technology for semiconductors. Intel currently employs 7,057 people in Israel. The company is one of Israel's largest private-sector employers. The investment will be over a two year period.

COMMENT: Attention BDS. Intel has a potential market of 7 billion customers. Money talks and BDS walks!

Turkey appeals yet again to Israeli tourists

Turkey misses you: Israelis have gone cold turkey on Turkey, and it seems the Turks are trying to bring them back. Ankara is launching a $1 million advertising campaign called "Turkey Welcomes You" in an attempt to convince Israelis to return, in the wake of the diplomatic falling-out between the two states.

Israel in talks with Greece on gas exports
"Reuters" reports Greek Minister of Investments Harris Pamboukis as saying that Greece has begun exploratory talks with Israel about cooperation on transporting natural gas from the Leviathan field to markets in Europe. "Reuters" notes that relations between Israel and Greece have been warming partly because of the chill between Israel and its traditional strategic partner Turkey Greece's neighbor and historic rival. Israel is also already reportedly discussing potential cooperation on a liquefied natural gas facility with Cyprus, a close ally of Greece.

COMMENT: I think we get the drift.

Gazprom confirms interest in Israel
Russian's OAO Gazprom (Nasdaq: OZGPY; LSE: OGZD; DAX: GAZ; RTS: GAZP ) has confirmed reports that it is planning to enter Israel's offshore oil and gas exploration industry. Gazprom plans to invest in a 50% stake in a private Israeli company that currently holds rights to develop Israel's offshore energy assets, said "Interfax" last week. Gazprom's entry into the Israeli market has far-reaching political and strategic implications. It is not only a huge energy company; its top executives are also Russia's leaders. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev was Gazprom's CEO before taking up his new job.

Russians want to learn from Ben-Gurion Airport: Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday instructed the country's Transportation Ministry and police to reform security procedures at airports. Says Israel should be taken as example. "The level of terror threat in Russia is higher than that in Israel."

COMMENT: No Need. Actions speak louder than words.

Female Arab Referee rules soccer field

Hiba Arja, 26, is one of the only two Arab lineswomen in Israel. Aside from guarding the lines at youth league games, she serves as a member of the referee team at Liga Alef (the third tier league in Israeli soccer). Like many other young Arab women, Arja left her home town after graduating from high school, and moved to Tel Aviv, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in physical education at Kibbutzim College.

COMMENT: No wonder Hamas are trying to destroy Israel.  The blasphemous Israeli racists are destroying the fabric of arab society.

Elbit Systems wins Brazilian Air Force UAV contract
Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) has won a Brazilian Air Force contract subsidiary for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The company's Brazilian subsidiary Aeroeletrônica Ltda. will supply the Hermes 450 UAVs. Recently an Elbit Systems subsidiary won a $260 million Brazilian Army follow-on order for the supply of UT30 BR 30 mm unmanned turrets, as part of the army's Guarani Project.
